Fair organizers are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the barn built by H.A. (Peter) Tonsfeldt in 1918 to showcase his cattle. The barn was donated to the fair board and moved to the fairgrounds in 1981.

This article from the Waunakee Tribune, written by Bob Khouri, details the reuse of the Nordeng family barn. The barn, which had sat outside the creek on the property south of Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church in Wisconsin, was constructed in 1946 using oak. Rilco rafters of Minnesota re-purposed the oak from the barn for a distillery in Madison, called State Line Distillery.
